GOMEO ZACHARIUS NEIL BOBELU
DECEMBER 25, 1964 – NOVEMBER 16, 2022

Gomeo passed away suddenly at home in Santa Fe on November 16, 2022 with his loving partner Gregory by his side and was laid to rest on November 20, 2022 in his beloved Zuni Pueblo with a traditional Zuni Wake & Burial and full Military Honors. Gomeo Zacharius Neil Bobelu is a Proud member of the Zuni Tribe in New Mexico.
Gomeo was preceded in death by his Siblings; Christopher, Julius, Brumette and Lisa. Gomeo is survived by his Partner Gregory Leon Baird, Daughters Shelby Bobelu & Kevin Mahakee, Amber Bobelu Rios & Oscar Rios and 5 Grandchildren; Kayvon, Ezra, Shanette, Davian and Zaxon.
Gomeo is also survived by his "mama" Lorraine, 4 sisters and numerous family of Zuni Pueblo.
Gomeo was The Way of the Rain, Inc. (TWOTR), 501 (c) 3. Non-Profit Office Manager, Production / Performance Coordinator and Social Media Administrator. After serving in the US Air Force specializing in audio visual support services and graphic design, Gomeo joined TWOTR, Inc. Team with experience in Non-Profit office management, administration and technical support and as a Cultural Liaison, Environmental Advocate, Social Media Influencer, Documentary Producer & Consultant and as a background Actor in Films, Television & Netflix programs.
He descends from a long line of Farmers & Artists and is an Award winning silversmith and lapidary jewelry Artist, including the 2006 recipient of the Goodman Fellowship Award - Wheelwright Museum of American Indian, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
"Being a Native American Artist has opened many opportunities for me to use my voice to advocate for the preservation of our Mother Earth, the environment, ecology, and ecosystems. I believe in the amplification of TWOTR Mission, alignment with diverse communities, and Community Engagement with youth groups at the front lines of Environmental Justice and Art - I am Zuni Rain - I am Shumakolowa, Dragonfly Boy - Elahkwa!"
A Memorial Service at The Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe will be announced at a later date.
